We convened the 1st Rare Event salon (workshop), "Limits and views of transition state theory" at the University of Yamanashi, Japan. "Rare Event" is a collective term for phenomena that seem common and everyday events from human viewpoints, but extremely rare and sudden transformation of molecular structure on a timescale of moleculer motion.
